Eline Poels studied medicine at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam and received her Medical Degree in 2015. In 2012 she worked on her master’s thesis at Columbia University in New York City at the division of Translational Imaging. During this internship Eline was involved in imaging research (PET and MRS) on schizophrenia. Currently, Eline is working as a PhD student and Psychiatry resident at Erasmus Medical Center. In 2017 and 2018 she studied Clinical Epidemiology at the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences (NIHES) and obtained her master degree in 2018 (cum laude). Her current research focusses on lithium and antipsychotics during pregnancy and the consequences of these medications during pregnancy for the developing child.
